Sheriff, Clerk of Circuit Court Expand Jail Detainee Bond Posting Locations to Suburban Courthouses

The public may now post bond for Cook County Jail detainees at suburban district courthouses, in addition to the current bonding location at Cook County Jail, Sheriff Thomas J. Dart announced today.

As of Jan. 17, 2017, bond may be posted for jail detainees at the Skokie, Rolling Meadows, Maywood, Bridgeview and Markham courthouses. Bonds payments at those locations are accepted from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Previously, bond payments for individuals in jail custody had to be made at Cook County Jail.

Payments will be processed at any of the courthouses, regardless of where detainees’ court cases are heard. After 3 p.m. on weekdays, and on weekends and holidays, bond payments may be made at Cook County Jail, 2700 S. California Ave.

Bond payments may be made at Cook County Jail, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week, including holidays.

Regardless of the location where the bond is posted, detainees will be discharged from Cook County Jail. Released individuals or their loved ones are responsible for their transportation, even if their bond is posted off-site.
